Video: LI Man Arrested After He's Caught Taping Himself Vandalizing Cruiser, Police Say

A 25-year-old Long Island man was arrested after he was caught taking a video of himself vandalizing a police cruiser.

New Cassel resident Wesley Andrade Rodas was arrested shortly before 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 5 in Westbury after he sprayed soda on a police vehicle and threw a bottle at it, all while videotaping it on his cell phone, Nassau County Police said.

According to police, two Nassau County officers saw Rodas standing next to a marked Radio Motor Patrol car that was parked on Post Avenue. Rodas intentionally sprayed liquid from a coke bottle onto the vehicle and threw the plastic bottle at the passenger side window.

The entire incident was videotaped and posted on social media.

Rodas was arrested and charged with attempted criminal mischief and criminal tampering and cited for littering. Rodas was arraigned on Wednesday, Nov. 6 in First District Court in Hempstead.
